The Film

The most recent of the original short films, made in 2026 and written and directed by Joshua Patrick Dudley.

Watch it on the StabMovies.com YouTube channel.

The short is told through home security camera footage and phone video, with a time stamp in the corner of each camera shot. It opens on the hallway camera just after 2 a.m. A boy walks down the dark hall, stops and looks around before moving on. For a while the hall sits empty, and the light flicks on for a moment and goes dark again.

When the hall light comes on for good, a boy in a gray shirt steps out and finds another boy in a black shirt standing silently at the far end of the hall. The boy in gray watches him for a long time. The picture breaks up with static for a moment. Then the two boys walk down the hall together.

The footage moves to the kitchen camera. The boys come in, and the boy in black stands in the kitchen. Someone films him on a phone as he stands there staring, while a little girl sits at the table rubbing her eyes. A woman in a green shirt comes in and stands with the children.

Then the kitchen goes dark. Static rolls across the screen, and in the black a pair of small lights shows where eyes would be. When the lights come back, the woman is looking at her phone. The phone footage shows a silver cross necklace hanging in the kitchen, and a hand grabs it. Then the phone drops and the picture tumbles to the floor tiles.

In the last shots from the kitchen camera, the woman and the children huddle together on the floor by the counter. Static fills the screen one more time, and the film cuts to black. Nobody is named, and nothing is explained. The whole thing runs under three minutes.

Release & Reception

It went up on the StabMovies.com YouTube channel on June 25, 2026, three weeks before the opening night it promoted. It had 646 views in September 2026.

Verified release record

The creator's upload is the authoritative release copy. It runs 2:51 and credits Emilee Powell, Cullen Teague, Dylan Teague and Gracie Mandravelis on screen without assigning character names. Joshua Patrick Dudley is credited as writer and director. The lack of character names is retained here instead of matching performers to figures by appearance.

The film predates the July 15, 2026 Boston opening-night event it was made to accompany. StabMovies.com's announcement describes ticket giveaways, live coverage, interviews and behind-the-scenes material around that stage production; it does not identify this short as an adaptation of the stage story. The film is a promotional tribute with its own self-contained found-footage scene.

No budget, exact filming date, named character list, composer, production company or physical-media edition has been confirmed by primary sources. Those details remain unverified; imagery and third-party reposts do not establish them.

The film remains available in the same complete creator upload used to verify the running time, credits and shot-by-shot record. That direct release is the reference copy for future corrections; short clips, reposts and promotional material should not override it.

Production

Joshua Patrick Dudley wrote and directed the short in 2026. It is the most recent of the original short films on StabMovies.com.

It borrows the style of the Paranormal Activity films. Most of it is shown as footage from two home cameras labeled Hallway and Kitchen, with running time stamps, mixed with handheld phone video shot in a vertical frame.

The short was made to go with StabMovies.com's partnership with Paranormal Activity, the hit Broadway production, for its opening night on July 15, 2026. StabMovies.com promised free ticket giveaways, live opening night coverage, exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes content. The July 15 opening night was in Boston at the Emerson Colonial Theatre, before the show moved on to Broadway. The StabMovies.com team sat in the front row.

Music

The short and its official records do not name a composer, licensed song or soundtrack release. Its sound is part of the found-footage presentation.
